OUR CURRENT ESG FOCAL POINTS

Chilwa Minerals Limited intend to:

  • Develop, manage and implement a comprehensive HSEC Management System (HSECMS) in line with the Applicable Standards.

  • Achieve HSEC compliance and performance objectives through the integration of suitable policies, plans, programs and procedures that address HSEC risks and impacts.

  • Ensure regular monitoring, auditing and evaluation is undertaken on Project HSEC performance.

  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement (i.e. with lenders, communities, local leadership etc.) to avoid potential blockages due to a lack of social license to operate.

  • Ensure efficient communication among staff, contractors and stakeholders to collaboratively and proactively address HSEC issues.

  • Improve the HSEC skills of staff, contractors and stakeholders via training programmes.

  • Implement environmental monitoring and protection programmes, including sediment control, waste and hazardous waste management, water quality, fuel handling and storage, biodiversity and wildlife protection, and protection of culturally significant sites.
